Why will my Tamron 75-300 mm lens not mount on my Canon EOS Xsi?
I recently bought a new camera lens for my Canon Xsi, and it appears as if it will not attach to the body. Do I need to buy some sort of lens converter?

Cameras have specific lens mounts, so that Canon will only take a lens with a Canon-specific mount (and Canon distinguishes between the EF, EF-S and manual focus mounts). Pentax cameras take pentax-mount lenses, etc.
Thus, it’s likely that the Tamron lens you have is in the wrong mount if it won’t fit on your Canon. Check the box it came in for confirmation and/or exchange it from the place you bought it. And if it’s a manual focus Tamron lens for a Canon, note that Canon manual focus lenses are totally different from Canon’s autofocus lenses (EF and EF-S).
